Institute of Health and Paramedical Sciences started its educational activities by admitting 350 students in both full fund and tuition fee-based systems as well as five fields of study in the building of Nursing and Midwifery School by permission No. A/2/6322 of Ministry of Health and Medical Education in December 4, 1995.Health institute changed its title to School of Health by adding the field of Health Services Management (Bachelor of Science) and admitting 23 students in December 20, 2000. Occupational Health Engineering, Environmental Health Engineering and Public Health (continuous and non-continuous Bachelor of Science) have been added since 2006 and this school admitted students in MPH since 2007. Master’s degrees in the following fields of study were also added to the school: Health Services Management (2006), Public Health in Nutrition, Food Safety and Hygiene (2011), Environmental Health Engineering (2012), Occupational Health Engineering (2014).

The number of students in different academic degrees of the School was 500 in first semester of 2017-2018. 140 students are studying in Master of Science and MPH. Moreover, more than 45 invited lecturers cooperate with this School in each semester. Totally, this School includes the following departments:

- Occupational Health Engineering (Bachelor and Master of Science)
- Environmental Health Engineering (Bachelor and Master of Science)
- Public Health (Bachelor of Science)
- Health Education and Promotion (Master of Science)
- Food Safety and Hygiene (Master of Science)
- Public Health in Nutrition (Master of Science)

School of Health was established in 1995. The order and time of admission of students in different fields of study of this School are as follows:

2000: Bachelor of Science in Health Services Management

2006: Continuous and Non-continuous Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health Engineering, Environmental Health Engineering and Public Health, Master of Science in Health Services Management

2007: MPH

2011: Master of Science in Public Health in Nutrition, and Food Safety and Hygiene

2013: Master of Science in Environmental Health Engineering

2014: Master of Science in Occupational Health Engineering

2016: Master of Science in Health Education
 

Mission

The School of Health is responsible for accepting and educating the student in order to provide the human health workforce of the Country at the executive, educational and management levels, as well as conducting scientific-applied research for solving health system problems and ultimately the production of science and promotion of the level of knowledge in the field of Health.

Goals and Objectives:


1. Training skilled human resource in Health Services Management, Environmental Health Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety Engineering, Public Health, Health Education, Food Safety and Hygiene, Public Health in Nutrition and Research-based Ph.D. in Health Education and Promotion

2. Promoting the quality of educational and research services

3. Developing training courses, especially in postgraduate programs, with emphasis on the needs of the Country

4. Completing human resources and promoting the level of specialty and rank of faculty members and staff of the School

5. Training human resources specialized in health sciences in accordance with community needs

6. Active participation in implementation of the comprehensive scientific plan of the Country

7. Development of inter-sectoral cooperation

8. Improving physical structure and educational as well as research equipment
