Nursing and Midwifery

School of Nursing and Midwifery

This School started its activity by admitting 107 female students in Nursing (Bachelor of Science) and 51 students in Midwifery (Associate Degree) in September 1987. The current building of this School was constructed in 1993 with a campus area of 6000 square meters. Anesthesia and Operating Room Technology (Associate Degree) were added to the School by admitting 30 students for each field of study. Bachelor of Science in Midwifery was added to the School in 2006 in order to promote Associate Degree in Midwifery and Master of Science in Nursing was also added to the School in 2010. Tuition fee-based system was set up in the School in 1992 and non-continuous Bachelor of Science in Nursing was also added by admitting 20 students in 1999. Fields of Anesthesia and Operating Room Technology were separated from this School and continued their activities in School of Paramedical Sciences in 1995.

Totally, there are four departments in this School, including:

  Geriatric Nursing

  Psychiatric Health Nursing

  Critical Care Nursing

  Midwifery Counselling

Currently, there are 588 students in this School studying Nursing and Midwifery (continuous and non-continuous Bachelor of Science), Critical Car Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Geriatric Nursing, and Midwifery Counselling (Master of Science).

Anesthesia and Operating Room Technology were separated from this School and were added to the School of Paramedical Sciences in 1995.

In 1999, Non-continuous Bachelor of Science in Nursing was started by accepting 20 students.

Bachelor of Science in Midwifery was added to the School in 2006 in order to promote Associate Degree in Midwifery.

In 2006, Master of Science in Critical Care Nursing was also added to the fields of study of the school.

In 2014, Master of Science in Psychiatric Nursing, Geriatric Nursing and Consulting in Midwifery started in the School by accepting seven, seven and five students, respectively.
