Doctors of Al-Furat University in Syria Visit Qazvin University of Medical Sciences and Health Services

Three specialists from School of Medicine of Al-Furat University in Syria, who were parts of a 15-member delegation and guests of Imam Khomeini International University in Qazvin, visited Qazvin University of Medical Sciences and got acquainted with various educational departments of the university.

Dr. Ziyad Jalal Al-Hussein, a histologist, Dr. Aladdin Mustafa Al-Jerad, a pharmacist, and Isam Al-Saleh Al-Moghir, a nurse, made up the three-member delegation. They visited the Clinical Skills Training Center, Electronic Testing Center, Operative Dentistry of School of Dentistry and the Microbiology Laboratory of School of Medicine on Saturday, November 16, 2019.

Before visiting various departments, Syrian visitors, who were accompanied by the Deputy Director General of International Relations of Imam Khomeini International University, held a joint meeting with Dr. Parviz Padisar, Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs, Dr. Navid Mohammadi, Director of International Relations, and Dr. Seyed Amir Farzam, Dean of School of Medicine.

At the meeting, the Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs explained about the processes of student admission and training, as well as the facilities for educational assistance including the Clinical Skills Center.

Dr. Ziyad Jalal Al-Hussein, Ph.D. in Histology, who led the delegation, thanked the government and the people of the Islamic Republic of Iran and said, "We had a great time during our stay in Iran and I do thank the Iranians for their hospitality.” He continued, ”Al-Furat University of Medical Sciences has five centers including Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, and Dentistry as well as one Treatment Center.”

This delegation then visited the Clinical Skills Training Center, Electronic Testing Center, Operative Dentistry of School of Dentistry, and Microbiology Laboratory. Moreover, they became acquainted with the educational and therapeutic functions through the experts’ explanations.

Al-Furat University in eastern Syria, was separated from Aleppo, one of the largest universities, in 2003, and now admits students from different Syrian ethnicities based on students’ scores on the Entrance Examinations in various majors including Medicine and Paramedical Sciences.

Studying at this university was free up to three years ago, but now students can be admitted to this university by paying a small fee.
