With the presence of Dr. Sayadi, the Chancellor of Alborz University of Medical Sciences, the first meeting of international directors (6th Part) was held on 05/21/2023, hosted by Alborz University of Medical Sciences. According to the decision taken in the first meeting held in the Ministry of Health, this meeting will be held on a rotating basis by the member universities of part 6 and the next host of this meeting will be Qazvin University of Medical Sciences in September. In this meeting, members presented their activities regarding the international field by presenting a report. In the meantime, important points including the emphasis of the Ministry of Health on the limitations of admitting Iranian transfer students from universities abroad, the development of educational and research infrastructures, the emphasis on updating university portals in English and Arabic, the challenges of receiving foreign currency from students and the preference of converting it into Rials, development of cultural programs for foreign students and the active participation of Vice-Chancellor’s Office of Student Affairs in this matter as well as the need for standard dormitories for foreign students were discussed. Moreover, Dr. Amirkhani's suggestion to use the memorandums between Iran and the countries of the Group Five and the Caucasus for the exchange of international students was emphasized. Designing the organizational levels of Office of International Relations and Vice-Chancellor of Administration, Resource Development and Planning, and the initiative of forming an economic sub-committee for the international student admission committee and the proposal to form a cultural sub-committee, the admission of medical students from the second semester and success in participating in the global ranking systems of universities were among the developments of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences in recent months which were presented by Dr. Modabber, Director of International Relations of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences.
