A meeting of directors and experts in international affairs from the Medical Sciences Universities of Iran’s Macro-Region 6 was held on Saturday, 10/03/1404 (Persian calendar), with the participation of senior officials from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education.

Dr. Amirkhani, Deputy Director of the International Cooperation Office, underscored the critical importance of internationalization and outlined the Ministry’s key strategic priorities in this domain. These include expanding international capacities beyond education, taking an active role in the region, increasing the country’s share in the global market, securing international grants, and establishing international affairs offices in leading universities.

Dr. Alireza Biglari, Director General of International Cooperation at the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, emphasized that international engagement is not optional but a strategic imperative.

He noted that the recruitment of international students, enhancement of university rankings, and effective use of internationalization opportunities must be pursued through well-planned and high-quality initiatives.

Dr. Biglari also highlighted Qazvin University of Medical Sciences—with its six dental specialty programs—as a successful model for international student recruitment within Region 6.
