7. Supervision and sanitary control of waste disposal of the Center and, if there is a problem, providing appropriate executive suggestions

Infection Control
1) Identifying the sources of hospital-acquired infections through investigation and research
2) Implementation of the results of new research and studies on caring for the prevention and control of hospital-acquired infection
3) Collaborating on the development and implementation of educational programs for nursing staff, students and other staff for the prevention and control of infection by educational supervisor, if necessary
4) Participating in training sessions and training courses on infection control with other groups for nursing staff
5) Establishing health records and regulating the schedule of examinations and vaccinations for staff of the Center and submitting a report of positive cases
6) Evaluation of the necessary equipment for hazardous infections and providing a proper solution to the Hospital-Acquired Infection Control Committee
7) Evaluating the need for Center staff training in hospital-acquired infections and following up the training provided to comply with the laws and regulations of infection control
8) Daily visits from different parts of the Center to discover possible new cases and following up previous cases through the results of clinical trials, recording and providing necessary reports
9) Providing and developing guidelines for controlling clinical infections for special sectors and other vulnerable parts based on care standards in collaboration with the Infection Control Committee
10) Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of the rules and regulations recommended by the Infection Control Committee in all units of the Center and reporting the results to the Committee
11) Monitoring and supporting the isolation of infectious patients in accordance with Committee policies and facilities
12) Collaboration with the Infectious Disease Control Team of the Center to diagnose, research, control, and evaluate the incidence of infection in hospital epidemics
13) Participating in the Infectious Disease Control Committee meetings to provide information and reports and to receive executive guidelines with full consideration
Library
1. Providing information to the clients including faculty members, students and staff regarding the status of the latest information and medical reference resources
2. Continuous training and collaboration with referrers on how to use medical reference resources, such as medical databases and existing CDs
3. Co-operation with and continuing education to referrers, including professors and students who seek medical papers through a computer, and identifying the appropriate keywords for their research and investigation

Day Care Ward

2. Following up the supply of required equipment for orthopedic and neurological and maxillofacial patients by the medical unit
Burn Ward
Head: Dr. Ali Taromiha, MD, General Surgeon
The Burn Ward of this Center is the only active Burn Ward that is responsible for the burned patients in Qazvin.
The Burn Ward of this Center has two parts including operating room and burn unit. The Burn Ward has 6 rooms and 18 beds for men and women, a packing room, a drug store and a resting room. Burned patients are admitted to the Burn Ward after they are admitted to the Emergency Ward and doing such things as dressing and visits by the doctor, if necessary.
Patients will be dressing daily in the dressing room, will be trained after being rinsed by nurses and visited by a physician and would be placed on the list of surgery if necessary and with the practitioner’s discretion, and the next day, they will be subjected to scartomy, debridement, and sometimes fasciotomy and, graft, if necessary. Patients are under the supervision of physiotherapists who, in cooperation with a specialist physician, will carry out the relevant services. The nutrition of these patients is controlled by a nutrition expert at the Center and a suitable diet will be given to them.

ICU

Patients admitted to the ICU:
Patients who do not have good general condition before or after surgery (general, neurological, urological and orthopedic surgery) and need artificial ventilation and cardiorespiratory intensive care are referred to this Department. Among patients admitted to ICU, an important group of patients with respiratory disorders needs an artificial airway and a ventilator device. This group of patients includes:
1) Postoperative respiratory failure
2) Blows and crashes, especially blow to the head
3) Respiratory patients such as COPD or rib fractures
4) General disorders that cause respiratory problems
5) Patients who under neurological surgery have surgical shock or septic infections
The ICU Department is ready to accept all patients requiring critical care during the various hours of the day. The patient's admission will be coordinated by the departmental staff and the anesthetic specialists through the Emergency Ward or through the transfer from other Departments and Wards of the Center.
One of the most prominent features of this Department is the permanent attendance of an anesthetist who is responsible for observing the health care and treatment of ICU patients, as well as consulting the sick patients in other Departments and Wards as well as deciding on their transfer.
Patients in this Department are forbidden to visit and do not need a companion. Due to infection control, visit is limited. This section has a standard number of nurses trained to work in the ICU Department in each shift. Medical personnel are available 24 hours a day, when necessary and when device have problems, and the service will be performed in a timely manner.
An observation room is available for patients' companions in the Department and they can fully observe their patients (at certain hours).
Operating Room

The operating rooms of Shahid Rajaee Center are available with nine active operating rooms for surgical services in various surgical wards as follows:
- A prominent feature of operating rooms is the use of all common facilities and equipment that allows for a wide range of surgical procedures.
- The CSR collection is distinct from other parts and is managed in accordance with strict sterile technique.
- The operating hours are from 7.30 am to 8.00 pm and according to the presence of surgeons in the Center, surgical operations can be performed all day and night.

Outpatient Acceptance:
Control of tests, control of operation management and satisfaction, control of blood reservation if needed, NPO control, VS control, patient control regarding the withdrawal of prosthetics, artificial teeth and jewelry, control of the place of operation, control of changing clothes
In case of transfer from Departments and Wards:
Pre-operative care sheet control, test control, control of satisfaction, if the patient is at High Risk, satisfaction is taken in the operating room, writing the patient case report and clinical patient notes, controlling the patient in the absence of artificial limbs and jewelry, ensuring the patients’ NPO
• Transferring the patient to the waiting room
• Preparing the patient for surgery (insertion, BP control, VS control)
• Transferring the patient to the surgery bed
• Controlling the patient's readiness for starting surgery (monitoring, blood pressure, IV line control, patient control reassessment, appropriate positioning)
• Injection of anesthetic drugs under the supervision of anesthesiologist
• Intubation of the patient (if necessary)
• The anesthetic doctor's order to start the operation

• Patient control during the operation by technicians and anesthesiologists
• Exit procedure for patient from anesthesia
• Patient transfer to Recovery
• Delivering the patient to the recovery (giving a full explanation about the patient's situation during the operation to the recovery)
• Oxygen therapy, IO control, control of the level of consciousness, requesting blood and performing the required tests according to the order of the anesthetist (if necessary), injection of narcotics to relieve the patients’ pain by anesthesiologists’ prescription, completing the patient's case
• Transferring the patient to the relevant Departments and Wards
• Calling the head nurse of the Departments and Wards to deliver the patient, transferring the patient with the stretcher, controlling the patient's case, controlling the completion of the postoperative care sheet, controlling the level of consciousness, controlling the bleeding in the operation, delivering the patient by the nurse of the relevant Departments and Wards
• Knowing all devices, using the correct equipment and, troubleshooting the devices, if necessary
