School of Nursing and Midwifery

Qazvin University of Medical Sciences
The School of Nursing and Midwifery began its academic activities in September 1987 with the admission of 107 female students in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing and 51 students in the Associate Degree in Midwifery.
In 1993, the School moved into its current building, covering a campus area of 6,000 square meters.
Program Expansion Timeline
· Early 1990s:
o Associate degrees in Anesthesia and Operating Room Technology were added with 30 students admitted to each program.
o A tuition fee-based system was introduced in 1992.
· 1995:
o The Anesthesia and Operating Room Technology programs were transferred to the School of Paramedical Sciences.
· 1999:
o The Non-continuous Bachelor of Science in Nursing program was introduced with an intake of 20 students.
· 2006:
o The Bachelor of Science in Midwifery was introduced to upgrade the associate degree.
o The Master of Science in Critical Care Nursing was launched.
· 2010–2014:
o The School expanded postgraduate education with the addition of:
§ MSc in Psychiatric Nursing (2014)
§ MSc in Geriatric Nursing (2014)
§ MSc in Midwifery Counseling (2014)
