    The Vice-Chancellor’s Office for Student and Cultural Affairs was formally established as an independent unit in 1996 to support the holistic development of students and act as the primary bridge between the student body and the university. Its central mission is to nurture academic success, personal growth, and cultural identity through well-rounded support services, programs, and student engagement initiatives.

    Core Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Implementing and communicating the strategic plan and core policies of the Office.

    2. Overseeing the performance of directors and department heads under the Vice-Chancellor’s supervision.

    3. Ensuring internal and external coordination in student and cultural matters.

    4. Supervising financial operations related to student and cultural activities.

    5. Active participation in councils and committees related to student and cultural affairs.

    Key Activities and Achievements

    The Vice-Chancellor’s Office prioritizes the well-being, cultural development, and active participation of students. It achieves this through:

    · Student Welfare Services

    o Dormitories totaling 19,476 square meters, accommodating 1,183 students (779 female, 404 male as of early 2017).

    o Dining services, welfare assistance, loan programs, and scholarships.

    · Cultural Engagement

    o 15 active centers and student associations, with 15 student-run publications producing approximately 18,000 copies annually.

    o Around 68% of students participate in cultural centers, associations, or programs.

    · Sports and Physical Activity

    o Indoor sports facilities totaling 880 square meters, significantly below the national standard of 1 square meter per student (current index: 0.3 sqm/student).

    o Organizing sports competitions, tournaments, and recreational activities.

    · Student Mental and Social Health

    o Counseling services (mental health, academic, social work).

    o Life skills workshops, screening programs, and prevention campaigns.

    · Religious and National Events

    o Celebrations, rituals, and ceremonies aligned with national and Islamic values.
