Kosar Teaching Center began its operations in 1968 under the name “Cyrus the Great General Hospital”. Following the Islamic Revolution, the name was changed to “Imam Jafar Sadiq Hospital”, and in 1992, it was renamed Kosar to reflect its focus as the only specialized teaching center for gynecology and maternity in the region.
The main L-shaped building, over 47 years old, spans approximately 4,120 square meters across two floors. It houses several key departments, including:

- Roaming Inn
- Operating Room
- NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit)
- ICU (Intensive Care Unit)
