After Acceptance
How and when will I be informed about my acceptance?
If your documents are complete, processing takes approximately 8-20 weeks.
How long does the visa procedure take?
On average, 6-8 weeks.
What should I do when I receive my visa number?
Bring your passport and visa number to the Iranian consulate.
Who is eligible to apply?
All international students except:
- Native Iranians (holders of Iranian passports)
- Iranians with dual citizenship who hold Iranian passports
Iranian applicants must take the Nationwide Entrance Exam (Konkoor) to be eligible.
How much is the tuition fee?
Tuition varies by program and level of study.
How and when should I pay tuition fees?
Tuition fees must be paid in full, in U.S. dollars at registration.
Who should sign my Letters of Recommendation?
Letters should come from individuals familiar with your academic or professional achievements, such as professors, thesis supervisors, or deans.
Some of my documents aren’t ready. Should I wait to apply?
You can submit your application partially and send remaining documents later.
Arrival and Registration
What should I do when I receive my visa number?
Collect your visa from the specified Iranian consulate with your passport and visa number.
What should I pack?
Pack light to avoid airline excess baggage fees. Qazvin has all necessary shops.
Weather is mild in spring/fall, hot in summer, and cold/snowy in winter—pack accordingly. Dormitories provide some essentials.
What documents do I need for registration?
- Original passport
- Approved previous certificate by Iranian Embassy
- Two copies of main passport pages
- 10 passport-size photos (3x4 cm)
- Original and two copies of all previous degrees and transcripts (officially verified)
Where can I learn Persian and what is the cost?
Students have Persian class fees covered by QUMS at Imam Khomeini International University.
