History
Research Institute for Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences and Health Services was formed from the aggregation of 4 Research Centers including Social Determinants of Health Research Center, Cellular and Molecular Research Center, Metabolic Diseases Research Center and Children Growth Research Center. This Research Center started its activities in a complex of 300 square meters within the University campus in 2018. The Health Research Institute was established to reach the comprehensive plan of the health system and the Sixth Development Plan as well as to conduct applied research on disease prevention and move towards maintaining and promoting community health. Therefore, this Research Institute adjusts its strategic planning and implements it with the support of superb managers in order to carry out research activities, produce and develop applied research at Qazvin University of Medical Sciences. The Research Institute for Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases is making efforts as a member of the Country's scientific research complex to promote scientific products based on the needs of the society in order for the Islamic Republic of Iran to grow and prosper.

Mission
Scientific authority in presenting applied research with emphasis on society and prevention of non-communicable diseases, gaining first place among other related research institutes, cooperation and extensive interaction with domestic and international scientific and research organizations, being a leader in the development of health-related research projects will be among the perspectives of this Research Institute for the coming years.
Vision
We intend to direct our efforts to promote and improve the health of society by conducting targeted and applied research, and to move towards scientific growth and prosperity by developing research knowledge by paving the way for a suitable environment. In this regard, we always pay attention to the needs of the society and produce and disseminate knowledge and practical strategies for maintaining and promoting the health of society by relying on Islamic values and capable forces. Therefore, stakeholder participation has always been our top priority as a strategy to rely on capable staff and researchers to advance scientific and research goals based on the needs of society.
Objectives of the Research Institute:
Research Institute for the Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases of Qazvin University of Medical Sciences intends to take steps towards the following goals by having the best researchers and staff and based on the needs of the community:
• Efforts to obtain final approval for the establishment of the Research Institute
• Improving the quantity and quality of research and studies based on the needs of the society
• Orienting research and studies towards applied research
• Promoting intra-sectoral and inter-sectoral interactions and collaborations, interactions with domestic and international organizations
• Playing a role in health policy and planning in the Province
• Establishing postgraduate courses related to community health in the Province
